The World Heritage Committee inscribing Castellaro and Bande on UNESCO's World Heritage List.

An obligatory stop is Mantova, which was the European capital during the Renaissance and has been added onto the UNESCO World Heritage list along with Sabbioneta for its characteristic Renaissance architecture and buildings.  Piazza Sordello is especially striking as it is overlooked by Palazzo Acerbi, Palazzo Bonacolsi, the Cathedral and the impressive buildings of Palazzo Ducale. Also fascinating is the Castle of San Giorgio and Palazzo Te, a masterpiece of Italian Mannerism.

However, the Mantova district can offer so much more. Just by wandering further into the territory. There are many examples, such as Castellaro Lagusello and Bande.
