Parco del Mincio
Rich in surprises is the Mincio river which starts from Garda and ends to Mantua.
More than 17,000 hectares of natural reserve of exceptional value, not only as regards landscape and nature, but also history and culture, with 13 Mantuan comunes set on its river banks. The Park consists of a high plain to the north towards lake Garda, with its sloping morainic hills, and a cultivated valley near Mantova, where the geography is marshy and lacustrine.The northern part, known as the Morainic hills area is rich in vineyards, ancient villages, castles, villas, small lakes and water courses in the small towns of Monzambano, Castellaro Lagusello, Volta Mantovana, Cavriana and Medole.
